Hi, I’m Grace!
I help teachers build smarter work habits so they can have thriving careers and lives.
After teaching for four years, I realized that I was still working just as much I had been during my first year of teaching.
We’re told that the hustle is a must during the first year of teaching but it didn’t feel right that I was putting in the same amount of time in year 4.
When I had my baby girl, I knew that I would have to make some changes if I wanted to spend more time with my family and have some much needed time for myself.
I set a big goal to leave school by 3:45 every day without taking work home. It wasn’t easy, but with some mindset shifts, time management strategies, and accountability, I made it my new normal.
Something else happened in this transformation that took me by surprise… Not only was I working less, my teaching improved and my confidence shot up through the roof!
I recognized that one of the reasons why it took me so long to plan, grade and everything that piles on teachers’ plates is that I was always second guessing myself.
Establishing my determination narrowed my focus and forced me to lean even more into my expertise, my teaching style and my experience as a teacher.
As teachers, we usually look to understand student performance through data analysis and test scores. And while both of those tools can tell part of the story, we can easily start to question our own judgement about our job performance based on this information.
So when we don’t like what we see, we put in the hours to hustle and experiment to see the outcome improve. Sometimes we do this at the expense of our own well-being.
My mission is to help teachers clarify their goals and get specific about what success looks like for them. Unlike what some people think, your students’ success is not correlated to the time you put into lesson planning and grading.
I can help you build systems that support the work and mindfulness that you and your students need by helping you maximize the skills and resources you already have.
You already have what it takes to make the impact you want to have and live the life you want to live.
