Episode #22: How to Position Yourself as a Leader Online

Do you have an online presence? What I mean by that is, do you publish video, audio or written information online so that your customers and clients can find you to learn from you? Becoming a leader online means that you have to position yourself for others to follow you and earn their trust by speaking to common problems and sharing knowledge about that industry consistently. In this podcast episode, we’re going to dive into how to establish yourself as a leader in the online space by listening to your audience, building your credibility, and sharing your knowledge in a consistent way where your audience is ready and waiting to listen to you.

Here are the highlights of this episode:

  1. How to listen to your audience  - Where to go online to conduct market research to learn about your audience’s common struggles and pain points.

  2. How to build trust with your audience -  so that when you speak they listen.

  1. How to choose a platform and type of content to communicate to your audience - so that they are easily engaged and are more likely to respond to you.

Action Steps:

  1. Establish a routine for listening - every week, set a timer for 10 - 15 minutes and read questions and comments in facebook groups, book reviews, or youtube videos.

  2. Find a common struggle and form an opinion about it as it relates to your experience and expertise.

  3. Create a piece of content for your audience on a platform that they use, instagram, facebook, linked in, etc.

  4. Format it in a way that your audience will consume. Reel, Instagram or a facebook live. Might be an instagram story, or a youtube video.
